Woman in warning after snatch claims
Fears were raised this week after a man was accused of attempting to snatch children on Ayr beach. Parents have been warned to keep an eye on their youngsters after he was spotted trying to lure the kids away. Karen Webb told how he targeted young children when she was on the beach. Karen said: “Be very wary with your kids at the beach.” Police were this week investigating the incident after they attended the scene.

Concerned parents were up in arms after claims a man was roaming Ayr beach attempting to snatch children away.
Beach- goers were keeping their little ones close after claims circulated last Wednesday that the man was spotted trying to entice tots to leave the beach with him. Horrified mums and dads vented their fury on Facebook, warning others of the apparent beach snatcher and pleading them to keep a watchful eye on young ones. One warning post tallied up over 12,000 shares on the social media site, but most have now been deleted. Karen Webb urged others to share her post, following her experience of the man approaching her with children in her care. Many commented that the man, who was wearing a pale blue tunic garment, was already known to the police – having been reported by parents earlier that day. Others switched to Twitter to circulate the caution. One Twitter user said: “If he is already known, then why is he out? “Are we all just walking around waiting for someone to steal our kids?” Another questioned: “Are beach users just watching him randomly approach children?” Po l i c e c o n f i rmed they were aware of the claims and investigating the situation.
