Youngsters can keep fit with summer fun ’ n’ games

Youngsters can keep active and burn off some energy over the summer break with East Ayrshire Leisure Trust’s fantastic sports and fitness activity programme. From athletics, multisport­s clubs, old school sports days and beat the coach sessions, to swimming lessons, rookie lifeguard courses, Big Splash family swim events, kids’ and toddlers’ activity clubs and more – there really is something for everyone. Teenagers aged 14 years and over also can enjoy fitness classes, such as boxercise and circuit training, or they can come along and try a session at the gym if accompanie­d by an inducted adult. Spor ts and fitness holiday activities run until Sunday, August 12 at Ayrshire Athletics Arena, Loudoun Leisure Centre, Doon Valley Leisure Centre and Auchinleck Leisure Centre, with free swimming for SHOUT card holders available at selected sessions. Activities vary from centre to centre. Tots’ activity clubs will also run at Hunter Fitness Suite and Stewarton Sports Centre throughout the summer, as well as a kids’ activity club for ages five to 12 years at Grange Leisure Centre. East Ayrshire Leisure are also running a number of summer activities in their libraries, as well as an exciting programme of countrysid­e events throughout July and August.
