Around the world in one week
Globetrotters did not have to travel far to learn about cultures around the world.
Belmont Academy pupils celebrated European Day of Languages with a range of activities.
They began every morning with an assembly with a video demonstrating the many languages that pupils and staff speak, including French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Japanese.
Senior pupils attended Prestwick Airport, where they were given a presentation by Easyjet, SFA and and languages website Radiolingua, where they learned about how useful languages are for different jobs.
During the week there were also themed food days, including Italian, Mexican and French, where pupils were encouraged to order food in that language.
Teachers also got involved in the fun by dressing up and tweeting about languages.
