Two on shortlist at awards
A tourism organisation and luxury castle hotel are among the nominees representing Ayrshire & Arran on the shortlist for the Scottish Thistle Awards regional finals.
Destination Ayrshire and Glennapp Castle have made it through to the west regional final.
Six businesses and individuals will represent the region at the west regional final at Oran Mor in Glasgow next month.
Destination Ayrshire and Glenapp Castle are jointly shortlisted for the working together for tourism award.
Gillian McNeilly, director of sales at Trump Turnberry, is shortlisted in the regional ambassador category.
Jules Matteoni of Prestwick Airport is shortlisted in the tourism and hospitality hero category.
Trump Turnberry also makes the most hospitable hotel category.
More than 640 entries were submitted for this year’s awards, including more than 1000 nominations from members of the public.
Rebecca Brooks, chair of the Scottish Thistle Awards industry panel, said: “We have once again been delighted by this year’s response to the awards.
“These rewards aim to shine the spotlight on the businesses and individuals who have shown real commitment and dedication to tourism in Scotland.
