T h e g h o u l i s h preparations are well underway for this year’s TamFest.

It ’ s billed as “Ayr’s Premier Family Festival”.

And the team have been hard at work preparing for big days this coming weekend in the town centre.

The Day o’ the Deid High Street parade is the climax at 4pm but things begin at 11.30am.

On the Saturday and Sunday afternoons, Ayr Central hosts pumpkin - carving, Halloween games and a chance to try out some creepy make- up.

In the picture above, artists Emma Clifton and Pearl Kinnear, at the front, join sisters Ruby and Greer Pester to put the finishing touches to their Day o’ the Deid productions. X Factor finalist Ryan Lawrie and Craig Ward, runner- up in this year’s The Voice, will be the main acts on the Tam Stage.

Meredith McCrindle, lead producer of Tamfest, said: “Our objective is to bring people back into Ayr town centre using local heritage, arts and festivals as a way of animating the town.

“Tamfest 2018 is set to be our biggest year yet and we have chosen the heroic Meg as our sub- theme and to be the focus of this year’s festival. “

Ayrshire Women’s Hub will host dancing, children’s story- telling and a whole host of other speakers.

And the town centre will be full of magic shows, face- painting, uni cyclists, clowns, magicians, firebreathers, school choirs and much more!

Ayr’s High Street will have on- street entertainment and a Tamfest market.
