Friday October 26 - Carrick Cinema Club are showing “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society” Cert 12A at 7.30pm.

In the aftermath of World War II, a writer forms an unexpected bond with residents of Guernsey Island when she decides to write a book about their experience­s during the war. Doors open 7pm. Tickets £ 5 available to purchase on the night.

Saturday October 27 – Children’s Halloween Party from 12.30pm- 2.30pm Fancy dress - wear what you dare! Prize for the best outfit. £ 2 per child.

Friday November 2 – Seniors Lunch Club from noon- 1.30pm and all are welcome. Enjoy great company over a lovely two course lunch with tea/ coffee prepared by wonderful volunteers £ 3pp. Available first Friday each month.

Wednesday November 7 – Book Club from 11am- noon, it is free and all are welcome. Love reading? A friendly informal get together over a cup of coffee. See website for November Book choice.

Friday November 9 – Christmas Craft Fayre from 7pm- 9pm. Come along and enjoy the lovely atmosphere of the Centre at night while browsing the lovely gifts and crafts. Local crafts tea, coffee, mulled wine and mince pies. It is free entry.

Every Monday and Friday there is a Foodbank in the centre from 10am- noon - all donations greatly appreciate­d and can be handed in during Centre opening times.

Saturday November 3 – Mods and Rockers night from 6.30pm – midnight. “Sarah Colllins & Keep The Faith” ( Northern Soul Band) and “The Peas”. Tickets £ 14 and are available on Skiddle. Facebook message Girvan Scooter Club for more informatio­n. Carrick Academy Gym

Men’s Health Forum - Thursdays 7.30pm- 8.30pm and it has just started back. Suitable for men of all ages. Qualified Trainer with your first Session free, £ 2/ session thereafter.

Badminton Tuesdays from 8.30- 10pm and is open to all age 16+.

On Wednesday, October 24 at 7pm there will be Maybole Over Fifties. The Speakers have started a Gents Games Night and gents of all ages are invited to go along for an evening of games such as pool, darts, dominoes, cards etc. There will be a charge of £ 1 per night to cover costs such as the pool tables.

The bar will be open and will also be serving teas and coffees.
