The Peasy are ‘ Nock- ed for five

CUMNOCK got back to winning ways as they beat Petershill 5- 1.

Steven Degnan opened the scoring before Peasy got one back, taking the sides into the break level.

But a second- half rout from the home side included a double from Paul Burns, a Scott Anson penalty and a Robert Patterson strike.

Gaffer Peter Leonard said: “It was the strangest 5- 1 I have ever seen, they will go away wondering how that was the score, they missed some big chances.”

‘ Nock face a tricky tie in the Junior Cup third- round this Saturday as they head to 2016 finalists Pollok.

Christian Nade showed his class with a hat- trick as TROON beat Cambuslang 4- 2.

Dean Fulton was also on the scoresheet for Jimmy Kirkwood’s side who host North Super League side Nairn St. Ninian in the Junior Cup on Saturday.

GLENAFTON were on the wrong end of a seven- goal thriller against KILWINNING at Abbey Park.

The Glens were up 3- 1 thanks to a Chris Dallas brace and a Mick McCann strike.

But the Buffs proved too much for Craig McEwan’s side as they ran out 4- 3 winners.

Glenafton face a 400- mile round trip this weekend as they head to North Super League side Ellon United in the Junior Cup.

WHITLETTS were hammered 4- 0 by high- flying Benburb and now face a free weekend after being knocked out of the Junior Cup by Lanark.

CRAIGMARK lost 5- 1 to league leaders Rutherglen and host East Craigie in the Junior Cup.

GIRVAN lost 3- 1 to St Roch’s as a Darren Mitchell equaliser wasn’t enough. They head to MUIRKIRK this Saturday, who lost 6- 1 to Lesmahagow, in the Junior Cup.

MAYBOLE lost 4- 0 at home to Bellshill and host Yoker in the league this week.

LUGAR drew 2- 2 with Blantyre and head to Greenock this week on league duty.

ANNBANK lost 7- 2 away to Vale of Leven as they gear up to face Championsh­ip strugglers Kello Rovers in the Junior Cup.
