Sorn SWI outing
It was a completely new experience for members and friends of Sorn SWI at their October meeting.
Instead of the usual venue the group headed for the Cotton Trail in Catrine where owner Eddie Kleboe cooked a selection of curries and gave a commentary on the spices he was using, passing them round and explaining some of their medicinal uses.
He also explained how he had been interested in curries since he was introduced to The Shish Mahal in Glasgow as a boy.
The best part of course was the tasting of the delicious selection of dishes Eddie had prepared which were served by Eddie’s wife Liz, who also served lovely cream scones and coffee to finish.
A well- deserved vote of thanks was given by Anne McLanachan. Liz had also been busy judging the competitions. The results are as follows. In the one pound gingerbread competition first was Anne McLanachan with Maureen Kerr second while the Item beginning with S section was won by Annie Kennedy with Maureen Kerr second and Jean Shaw third.
The next meeting takes place on Monday November 5 will be the Annual Whist Drive, in Sorn Village Hall at 7.30pm. Anyone wishing to attend will be made most welcome.
