Huffy bed frame thrower told to behave

-

A man chucked a bed frame out of a fourth floor window because he thought “it was funny”.

Christopher Peacock of Church Court in Ayr threw a number of items out of the window on May 13 including a wooden bed frame, a handbag and clothing.

The 36- year- old began launching the objects in what his solicitor described as a “monumental huff”.

Depute Fiscal Andrew Lazzarin told the court: “The locus is a fourth- floor flat and there were people walking about nearby.

“The accused and witness had been drinking.

“It seems the accused went to try open a window but couldn’t get it open. They forced it causing it to break. That led to an argument.

“It seems the accused then went around the flat opening some windows and picking up items throwing them out the window.”

The court heard police were contacted and Peacock told officers he accidentally broke the window. He then said “I threw the stuff out the window because it was funny”.

Peacock had managed to cut himself on the window and was taken to A& E for his injury.

Solicitor Steven Maxwell said his client went in a “monumental huff after he cut his hand”.

Sheriff Desmond Leslie told Peacock: “Stupid thing to do – but as long as you stay out of trouble”.

Peacock admitted behaving in an aggressive manner by throwing from the window a wooden bed frame, a handbag, a container and a quantity of clothing.

T h e c o u r t d e f e r red sentencing for him to be of good behaviour.
