Ambush of the young guisers on Halloween Teens toss eggs at tots and cars

-

Rotten pranksters pelted poor kids and passing cars with eggs in a sick trick or treat, writes Abi Smillie.

A group of seven hooded teens armed themselves on Halloween with bags full of eggs chasing tots out guising down Galloway Avenue in Ayr.

Sophie Steele witnessed the cruel act from her window and took to Facebook to warn others of the dangerous tricksters.

She said the group of youths, who were dressed in dark colours, had been “running around up and down Galloway Avenue chasing the wee ones who are out with their friends.”

Sophie added they had been “throwing eggs at passing cars and groups of people- even with young kids- and trying car doors.”

Concerned residents added to the social media post that the prank was ruining the trick or treat experience for little ones.

Another resident in Galloway Avenue said: “There have also been a lot of young kids pelting eggs at windows in the street. “I had my own windows pelted with eggs.

“Kids will be kids. I remember doing this kind of thing when I was younger.”

Last week, egg- launching yobs sparked a 999 call from panicked residents in Prestwick.

Yobs were spotted lobbing goods in Newdykes Road and Caerlaverock Road while “out of their heads on Buckfast.”

Prestwick residents claim the “ongoing” problem is in danger of spiralling out of control.

It is understood the egg- launching episode on Galloway Avenue was reported to the police, however officers were unavailable for comment as we reached deadline.
