Big thank you to baby unit

A Prest­wick woman was be­hind a fundraiser in aid of the Ayrshire Ma­ter­nity Unit’s Neona­tal unit ( NNU).

The event at Craigie Bowl­ing Club was held by Danielle Dur­rant who raised £ 527.

Danielle’s son Lewis was born at 28 weeks and spent three months in the neona­tal unit. Her daugh­ter Car­a­lyn also spent two weeks there when she was born.

Danielle said: “We are forever grate­ful to the neona­tal team for the care our fam­ily re­ceived when we stayed with them. They do a won­der­ful job. Thanks to ev­ery­one who do­nated at the fundraiser and a spe­cial thanks to Elizabeth and Robert Reid who helped with cater­ing, and also to Gina Cope, San­dra Rori­son and Janet McMor­ris.”

Caro­line Blake, clin­i­cal mid­wife man­ager, added: “We truly ap­pre­ci­ate the do­na­tion and the sen­ti­ment be­hind it.”
