No, not really in the nudebut at Prestwick’s popular bar The Buf as they play host to Ayrshire’s first singles night.
Are you sick of swiping, can’t find a match or feel like there are no more fish in the sea?
Well this singles night full of fun and games could be for you.
Sales and marketing director for BBD Creative Ayr, Lyianne Carson realised there was a gap in the market and wanted to help people find their perfect match.
Playing cupid Lyianne, along with colleague and friend Clare Boreland, noticed that in the modern dating world singletons are swimming in a pool of websites and apps but losing that face- to- face contact.
Lyianne, of Irvine, said: “What happened to just speaking to people?
“I do marketing for a living and I’d thought everything I do is online but that’s 100 percent never how I’d want to meet someone.
“So we thought how do you go about meeting people?
“We had a look online and saw that these events were quite big in Glasgow so we thought let’s just do it.
“I just thought why not? There’s nothing like this in Ayrshire.”
Lyianne, 35, admitted that appearance based dating apps like Tinder can be offputting for some.
She said: “It’s quite judgemental as well, all this swiping carrying on.
“You don’t know who you’re speaking to really.’’
Now the duo are dipping their toes in the water to test their new business plan.
Lyianne added: “We’re doing it as a business venture as well.
“I’m hoping it goes down well. It’ll be fun and it falls in line with what we do business wise anyway.
“We’re going to try make it more focused on fun rather than speed dating where you’re sitting across from someone because we felt that was a little bit intimidating for some people.”
