Dino sequel lacking bite

This disappointing sequel gets bogged down with predictable swerves and a cornucopia of dumb decisions.

Director J. A. Bayona’s horror background comes to the fore during the superior final act.

It ends with an intriguing set- up for a third entry; albeit one to leave you wondering where it all goes from here.

Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin give a good account of themselves in this true- life tale of a couple stranded at sea.

Unfortunately, we’ve seen the dangers that befall them in movies many times before and there’s a lack of true tension.

The overused flashbacks add little of substance.
