Prestwick on board in derby win

Prestwick Seniors recorded their first victory of the season on Saturday, beating Ayr 61- 57.

Alex Thomson and Morris Sturgeon guided their rinks to victory. This Saturday they are at home to Cumbernauld.

The Gents travel to Ardrossan and the Ladies face Ardrossan at home.

SIBA National Junior Singles play downs: Darren Weir beat East Kilbride 21- 8 and Coatbridge 21- 3 before going down 21- 15 to fellow Junior Internationalist, John Fleming of Inverclyde, in the Quarter Final.

In the Ladies event, Rebecca Houston beat Auchinleck 21- 9, Whiteinch 21- 8 and Blantyre 21- 16 to book her place in the semi finals at Midlothian in January where she will take on Eildh Weir of Alloa.

This Sunday the SIBA Under 18 and Under 21 singles takes place at Glasgow and Dumbarton. respectively.

Hector Berretti, Alan Paxton, Jim Fortune and Morris Sturgeon travel to Blantyre on Sunday to compete in the SIBA National Senior Fours event – they take on Ayr at 2pm.
