Cup ‘ Nock out blow

-

Cumnock’s Junior Cup campaign is over as they were knocked out by 2016 finalists Pollok.

The teams drew 0- 0 in the original tie last week, but the Glasgow side proved too much for Peter Leonard’s men in the replay.

Pollok raced ahead and were 2- 0 up after just 21 minutes.

David Gormley and Josh Watt gave the visitors their two goal advantage.

Ten minutes later, prolific hitman Scott Anson got one back for the home side.

Just before half- time Gormley could have restored his side’s two- goal lead from the penalty spot - but Ally Semple got down low to save the spot- kick.

Cumnock were then reduced to 10- men when Kyle Faulds was sent off for kicking out at Shaun Fraser.

Ross Brash dashed ‘ Nock hopes when he made it 3- 1 just after the hour- mark.

Cumnock head to Lugar in the West of Scotland Cup on Saturday.
