Rotary raise £ 9k selling poppies

Prestwick Rotarians worked with Poppyscotland this year to distribute 60 cans in businesses across the town.

A poppy collection was also taken in Sainsbury’s, organised on behalf of Prestwick Rotary Club by Adnan Soojeri.

The total raised throughout Prestwick this year was over £ 9,200, and local businesses had collecting cans and poppy trays on their premises.

Santa also paid a visit to his Rotary Club Grotto this year at Prestwick’s Lighting Up.

Visiting Santa was free, but a donation bucket is on hand to raise money for local good causes.

Generous families donated over £ 300, which will be put to good use.
