New bins delivery

The roll- out of recycling bins in South Ayrshire will be complete by April.

It is now at the half- way mark and the latest stage of the operation involves 9,500 households in Ayr, Prestwick and Troon.

There are about 56,000 homes in the area and the fourth stage will involve people in Annbank, Barassie and Loans.

Councillor Ian Cochrane said: “Feedback that we’ve had from the first area to go live in Girvan and Carrick suggests that the majority of households are now sorting their reusable waste to complement the new bins, which helps South Ayrshire to meet national targets and recycle as much as possible.”
