Margaret’s cake display

Mauchline S. W. I. welcomed Mrs Margaret Lennox to their monthly meeting held in the church hall on Monday November 19.

Mrs Lennox makes special occasion cakes and showed us pictures of the many fantastic cakes she has made over the last four years. She then demonstrated how to decorate a Christmas cake using Christmas ornaments made from icing and passed on advice on how to achieve success. An enjoyable question and answer session followed and members were able to pick up many useful baking tips to try out at home. Mrs Lennox kindly donated the finished cake for a raffle with the lucky winner being Margaret Hall.

A well deserved vote of thanks was given by Mary Tolmie.

Competition for a Victoria sponge attracted many entries. Judged by Mrs Lennox the winner was Alison McCormick with Betty Guthrie second and Sheena Easton third.

The evening closed by singing the rural song.

Next meeting is on Monday December 17 when we are having our Christmas party
