Gaelic signs scorn

Gaelic signs in East Ayrshire should be scrapped.

That’s the view of a former councillor who says the language has nothing to do with the culture.

George Smith, ex Catrine, Sorn and Mauchline councillor, said: “They are trying to impose Gaelic on us when we traditionally spoke Scots.

“I don’t mind them using it in Gaelic areas, but they should be using Scots here.”
