Steel toe boots

A 32- year- old man threw a pair of steel toe boots at his partner.

Terry Murphy, of Crandleyhill Road in Prestwick, assaulted Sarah- Jane Quinn at Hillview in Dalrymple on September 21.

The brute grabbed her by the neck, threw her to the ground and closed the door on her arm which was wedged in- between the door and the frame.

Murphy then launched a pair of boots at her.

Ayr Sheriff Court heard their seven- year- old son was struck by a knocked over ironing board during the incident.

Solicitor Ian Gillies said Miss Quinn’s position was “it was out of character”.

Mr Gillies added: “It shouldn’t have happened.

“He does conduct himself so it won’t happen again.”

Murphy must carry out 120 hours of unpaid work and will be supervised for 12 months.
