Drunk on wrong side of road
A drunk driver who flew through a pedestrian crossing on the wrong side of the road has been banned from getting behind the wheel.
David Armitage, 43, admitted dangerously driving his car at Ayr Hospital.
Armitage, of Cardwell Road in Gourock, pled guilty to driving on the access road to Ayr Hospital dangerously colliding with a roundabout, driving on the opposing carriageway through a pedestrian crossing at the entrance to A& E.
He also admitted returning to the correct side of the road, mounting a kerb and narrowly avoiding a collision with a concrete wall all whilst under the influence of alcohol.
As an alternative to custody, Armitage was placed under supervision for 18 months and must attend for alcohol treatment.
He was banned from the roads for 18 months and must resit his test.
