Looking back at war stories
The rather poignant subject of what Great War soldiers communicated to families back home - and what keepsakes those families treasured - was explored at Troon Library.
Senior pupils from Troon Primary delved into the topic and saw the ‘ Next of Kin Kit.’
The library service’s Annette Simpson said: “The kit is meant to be touched and handled and the children enjoyed a personal touch in what the items meant to Thomas Scott from the Tam O Shanter Inn in Ayr and James Cooper who did basic training in the town.”
