Youngsters in sporty action
Auchinleck Academy S4- 6 girl’s handball team made their way up to Ravenscraig to take part in the Scottish finals.
With all girls eligible to play for the next few years this was a perfect opportunity to get more experience in the games.
They played their first game against Girvan Academy and in a close encounter they came away with a 1- 0 win. The girls then had mixed results with wins against Balfron and Cumbernauld and loses against Our Ladu’s and Marr College which saw them finish fifth.
Fifth in Scotland is still a fantastic achievement and as always the girls were brilliant on and off the court. Captains Ailey Porter and Abbie Brown led the team well and the team looks forward to some revenge games later in the year.

Auchinleck Academy senior boys’ basketball team were recently victorious in the Active Schools Competitive School Sport Calendar basketball competition.
Eight schools entered and Auchinleck managed to win every game to come out as overall winners. They showed great team work, skills and sportsmanship throughout and were well deserving of their victory.
The points they earned for the school will be added to the school total for the calendar at the end of the school year when all the events are completed.
