Camera club focus on venue
The Girvan Camera Club is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
With a special meeting in its usual venue of the New Hall, there will be various displays and a buffet on Tuesday, December 11.
It is thought no adults attending that first meeting 60 years ago, are now alive.
A spokesman for the Girvan Camera Club, said: “Photography has changed out of all recognition over those years.
“Film has all but disappeared with advent of digital, while the modern cameras themselves are amazing marvels of technology.
“Girvan Camera Club has never been a very big club, but there always has been a strong core of enthusiasts who keep the club running smoothly year after year.
“With almost 30 meetings a year, it makes for a busy syllabus.
“All members including past members and friends are invited to attend this notable milestone. It already looks like a full house that night.
“If you would like to attend please phone our President, Rory Macadam on 07909 995 996, or our Secretary, Stewart McLaren on 01465 713946 to book a place.”
