Ramblers head out to loch

-

On Sunday, December 9, Ayr & District Rambling Club will travel to Loch Doon for a 9.5- mile circular walk starting at the Garpel Bridge ( NX483: 984).

The route heads west along the forestry road, which eventually joins a mountain bike track that climbs gradually and then descends to the shore of Loch Bradan.

From here there is a section of road walking downhill to the Waterworks, to join a track heading east. This is followed by open ground, which may be swampy in places, walking parallel to Loch Finlas.

On reaching the weir, the final section of the walk is on a good track back to the Garpel Bridge.

For more details, contact Louise Murdoch on 01292 550968. To join the walk, please meet at the Millbrae car park in Ayr at 8.50 am.
