Vote against brouach

-

Finally the Brexit shambles comes to the ‘ end game’ … or maybe not. It

is, however, crunch time for our local MP Bill Grant.

All Conservative MPs are apparently going back to their Constituencies

to be advised on opinions re the Withdrawal Agreement and the Political Declaration. On December 11 Mr Grant has to vote on these matters.

He needs to remember that on Thursday 23 June 2016 in South Ayrshire 36,265 voters ( 59%) voted for Remain, whilst 25,241 ( 41%) voted to leave.

The deal offered has been described as ‘ the worst of all worlds’ and every

forecast, even the UK Government’s own Treasury, show the UK and

Scotland will be poorer.

Even the ‘ so called’ key successes fail to deliver when scrutinised. No

more Freedom of Movement for EU citizens will have a disastrous impact on Ayrshire’s food and drinks industry, the NHS, the hotel and tourist industry.

The flagship ‘ out of the Common Fisheries Policy’ has been sunk without trace. President Macron has made it absolutely clear that beneficial trade deals must be linked to fishing negotiations which must give European boats existing reciprocal access to British waters and existing quota shares. Remember over the last 45 years successive Conservative and

Labour governments have sold out fishing as a less important bargaining chip when they negotiated the CFP. If it looks like the CFP and behaves like the CFP then it is the CFP’.

So only one solution exists – vote against this chaotic Brexit brouach, Mr Grant, and don’t let your constituents down as you did with the WASPI women.
