McCord lands KO 1m 58secs into debut

Ayr’s ring king picked up his fifth professional win in just one minute, 58 seconds.

Kincaidston boxer Calvin McCord is now 5- 0 as he beat Taka Bembere by knockout on Friday, as his opponent failed to answer the referee’s count.

The 21- year- old, who fights at lightweight, is now getting set for a Scottish title fight in Ayrshire.

He is yet to find out his opponent for his fight at Trump Turnberry on March 2, but he is ready.

He said: “I can’t wait for it — it’ll be good fighting in Ayrshire.

“I have just picked up my first professional- level knockout, so now I need to kick on.

“My confidence is growing with every fight and every win, so I just need to keep going.”
