Troon smash Carnoustie to make cup’s last 16
Troon came out on top in the “battle of the golf courses” as they battered Carnoustie Panmure in a well above- par performance.
Jimmy Kirkwood’s men ran out 3- 1 winners in the fourth- round Junior Cup tie that was called off last week.
A pair of familiar faces were amongst the scorers for Troon.
Former Honest Man Ryan Stevenson and ex- Hearts hitman Christian Nade helped the Portland Parkers into the last 16 with a rout in the opening 20 minutes.
Nade headed home the opener after just seven minutes, before Stevo
doubled the lead with a stunning strike after 15 minutes.
Scott Chatham made it three and killed the tie off.
