Talbot must print tickets for fan safety

-

Last week I joked about not having a ticket for the Auchinleck Talbot v Ayr United Scottish Cup tie.

This week, I still don’t have a ticket . . . but it’s no joke.

I’ve been reading of Talbot’s hopes to have no tickets printed for the game at all – with admission cash being taken at turnstiles. I appreciate Talbot saying they’ve handled big games before – but this is match is bigger than ‘ big’!

For starters, the Ayr support will be massive.

This tasty tie - and its’ convenient location – will tempt hundreds of extra ‘ fans’ from the bookies, pubs and armchairs where they normally spend a Saturday.

And everyone in Auchinleck will want to be there too.

I know if I was an Auchinleck kid and didn’t have the admission money – I’d be thinking of some scallywag way of getting in! There are going to be a lot of people, a lot of cars - and a lot of cash! – around Beechwood Park on match day. And unless Talbot can guarantee 100% safety for them ALL – they must surely consider the printed ticket option!
