Yipworld’s Stomping Ground scheme is among those bidding to tackle alcohol misuse.

The Scotch Whisky Association ( SWA) has granted awards to the groups in the hope demon drink can be tackled.

The activity marks the fifth round of awards from the Scotch Whisky Action Fund, set up by the SWA in 2013.

The fund is managed by independent charity, Foundation Scotland and has made grants totalling £ 175,000 this year.

Dame Joan Stringer, who chaired the awards panel, said: “The 13 projects which will benefit from funding this year have the potential to change lives and steer vulnerable people away from the dangers of alcohol misuse.”
