A bear- y important guest made a special appearance at Castlehill Church last Tuesday.

The national mascot for The Boys’ Brigade, Braw the Bear, popped along to join pupils from Forehill Primary choir – some of which are members of the 17th Ayr Boys’ Brigade.

The choir performed songs for senior members of the church and community.

Braw, one of BB Scotland’s youngest members, joined the organisation as part of its Year of Young People initiative.

David Watson, head teacher of Forehill Primary, said: “We are delighted to continue the partnerships we have with the congregation and organisations within Castlehill Church.

“We have a large number or young people in the school who are involved in youth organisations such as the BBs and we shouldn’t underestimate how much these organisations contribute to the young person’s wellbeing, character and development.”
