Pupils in­vited to sing be­side West End’s lead­ing lady

Singing su­per­stars have been in­vited to au­di­tion for the chance to per­form along­side one of mu­si­cal the­atre’s big­gest stars at a live con­cert at Dum­fries House next year.

Tal­ented pupils and groups are to be given the chance to star along­side Kerry El­lis, widely con­sid­ered to be the lead­ing lady of Lon­don’s West End, at the Cum­nock es­tate in front of hun­dreds of peo­ple at An Evening Of Music From The West End on Satur­day, March 16.

Kerry, who has held star­ring roles in Wicked, We Will Rock You and Les Mis­er­ables, will be joined on­stage by Bri­tain’s Got Tal­ent win­ner Jai McDowall, who per­formed for mem­bers of the Royal Fam­ily at the Royal Va­ri­ety Per­for­mance in 2011.

Speak­ing of her up­com­ing per­for­mance, Kerry said: “I am thrilled to be per­form­ing at An Evening of Music from the West End next year.

“Sup­port­ing The Prince’s Foun­da­tion is an hon­our as I know the charity does a lot to sup­port good causes.

“The evening is go­ing to be a great night and I hope to see lots of peo­ple in the au­di­ence sup­port­ing such a great cause.”

Jai, orig­i­nally from Tar­bolton, added: “I’m re­ally ex­cited to be per­form­ing at Dum­fries House as it’s not only a stun­ning venue in a beau­ti­ful set­ting but it is also very close to home.”

Tick­ets for the ex­clu­sive event, priced £ 21 per per­son, are on sale now.
