Air­port aims for ‘ tighter’ drone rules

Meet­ings have since taken place be­tween air­port man­age­ment and se­nior po­lice chiefs in a bid to com­bat any grow­ing threat.

Po­lice Scot­land this week con­firmed new anti- drone mea­sures, in­clud­ing in­creased pa­trols, have been in­tro­duced.

A spokes­woman for Prest­wick said: “We are aware of the risks due to drones and we do li­aise closely with Po­lice Scot­land.

“We would wel­come stricter con­trols on the use of drones in and around air­ports and flight paths.”

Gatwick are still of­fer­ing a £ 50,000 re­ward to trace those who brought their airfield to a stand­still.
