Lunch club gift to hospice
A ladies’ lunch group funded a new charity spa bathroom.
The club held in aid of Ayrshire Hospice helped to fund the new facility at its in- patient unit.
The bathroom provides modern facilities and accessories to deliver a personalised level of care.
Margaret Cook, joint chairperson of the Ladies Lunch Club said: “The committee were very impressed by the refurbished bathroom and the obvious benefit patients will get from using it. “The nurses are delighted with the use it has had already and look forward to many more patients enjoying the facility.”
Lyn Bateman from the hospice said: “The Ladies Lunch Club has been in existence for over 29 years and raised well over £ 264,000 during this time.
“The new luxury bathroom is only one of many areas within the hospice that they have helped with over the years.
“The hard work and time given by the club committee are never taken for granted and we are extremely fortunate to have such a loyal base of supporters.”
The club meets on the third Wednesday of the month at Western House Hotel in Ayr. At the lunch on January 23 Linda Rayner will give a talk on Antarctica.
There is an annual membership fee of £ 10 plus £ 16 per month for a two- course lunch. To join or for more information contact Lyn Bateman on 01292 288488 or email community@ ayrshirehospice. org.
