Air accident crisis talk at meeting
This month’s RAeS Prestwick Branch lecture will be held next week.
It is held in the Aviator Suite on the first floor of Prestwick Airport’s Terminal Building on Monday, January 14.
The lecture begins at 7: 30pm with doors opening at 7pm.
It is titled Tripoli A330 Accident Investigation and the speaker is Giorgio Bindoni.
He will talk about the crash of an Airbus A330 belonging to airline Afriqiyah at Tripoli International Airport in Libya.
He will go through his personal experience as an accident investigator not involved in the official investigation but keen to understand what happened, focusing in the search for the first impact point and in taking investigative photographs in a hostile environment.
Visitors and guests are welcome and there is an opportunity to meet over tea or coffee in the Aviator Suite ( situated on the upper floor of the terminal building) during the evening.
Entry is free to students in full time education; otherwise there is an entry fee of £ 3 for visitors.
The concessionary airport parking fee for all attendees is now £ 1 per hour, or part of, pay able at the Information desk.
