On the streets

-

A vital twilight service keeping drinkers safe is looking to recruit new volunteers.

The Ayr and Prestwick Street Pastors deliver an on- the- spot support network for revellers.

Their helping hand offers key backup to emergency services such as police and ambulance crews.

Now they will hold an open night for those who want to join the brigade on busy nights in Prestwick and Ayr.

If you are interested in joining but not exactly sure of what to expect, then this is the session for you.

The team will hold the open meeting for anyone wanting to find out more in St Leonards Church Hall, Ayr, on Tuesday, February 5 at 7: 30pm.

There will be a short presentation followed by a opportunity to meet some of the team and ask any questions you may have, refreshments provided. All are welcome.

There are only two criteria for joining – you must be over 18 and have had a live church connection for at least 12 months.

Anyone with questions in advance can contact the group via Facebook by searching “Ayr And Prestwick Street Pastors”.
