-

DYW Ayrshire are keen to support as many young people as possible to fulfill their potential.

With that in mind, the group has been meeting with Additional Support Needs ( ASN) schools in Ayrshire to discuss how they can help.

They are going to run a careers event at the Park School in Kilmarnock and a combined event for four North Ayrshire ASN schools ( Haysholm, Stanecastle, James Reid and James MacFarlane) in February 2019.

The event will be held at Grange Campus on Monday, February 4 from 9am - 12pm.

Pupils from P7 to S3 will be invited to come along to hear from employers about possible pathways in to work.

And the parents and carers will be invited to a presentation about the support available to them and their families to help the young people into employment.

Meanwhile, Stanecastle School in Irvine is hosting a careers event on Tuesday, February 19 and will also invite young people from James Reid, James McFarlane and Haysholm schools.

This is the third year the school have run the event with the purpose of showcasing both pupils and their parents/ carers of the types of employment opportunities that could be achievable.

The morning session runs from10am - 12.30pm with an afternoon session fro 1.45pm - 3pm. Interested businesses can get involved to offer a taster to pupils.
