Cool Heads

-

When all around you are losing theirs, it’s vital to keep the head.

So it’s vital now – more than ever – that Ayr fans screw the nut.

The mid- season wobble ( if you can call it that) is underway.

Injuries abound, one win in seven... it’s near enough a full blown crisis. Well, some would have you believe. In reality, Ayr remain three points off the top with a game in hand.

A position ALL fans would have jumped at back in August.

Has the recent form been a concern? Of little doubt.

But mash down this particular gravy and taking points on the road at Dunfermline and Queen of the South is hardly end of the road stuff.

A truly dire Ross County were beaten at Morton on Friday night in a reminder that this league is capable of anything.

This Saturday will, however, respresent a test of Ayr United’s true colours.

Inverness in the bleak midwinter is never nice.

Making the trip with a half fit squad is even less attractive.

But go there and return to Ayrshire with something in the bag, and it’s proof this season’s dream remains very much alive.

Anyone with a spare pair of boots – pack them in the car.
