Thought for the week..

Does life feel dull after the festive season? There is nothing wrong with the tried and true, with wholesome ordinariness. We become so used to variety that we don’t appreciate the everyday things of life.

We buy expensive perfume and walk past a rose without smelling it. We get a bigger TV to watch football and don’t go out and kick a ball, or to watch comedy films and tell the kids to stop laughing so that we can hear the jokes. Sometimes we need to take a long hard look at ourselves .

The most basic thing we have is life, and that is a gift from Almighty God. King David said to God, ‘ You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful.’ Life, in all its ordinariness, is truly wonderful.
