Never too young to dance
The building has seen some bizarre moves over the decades.
But not as groovy as last week when diddy dancing came to the Marina View Nursery in Troon.
The premises were well known as the legendary Troon nitespot Pebbles where often inebriated adults would strut their stuff on the dance floors.
The nursery played host to the diddi dancing toddler franchise with Wendy Gossman putting the children through their paces.
The nursery’s deputy manager Linda Weir said: “The children don’t actually realise they are learning, they absolutely love it and they are all talking about it.”
The nursery - which has around 100 youngsters - is keen to get the tots active to improve mental and physical health
Government recommendations suggest three hours a day of activity is the target for under fives.
Linda added: “With this in mind we encourage children to be active- from walking and exploring Troon beach, free play in the playroom and in the garden and accessing our physical room.
“Welcoming Wendy from diddi dance was another way for us to help the children to achieve this goal.
“As well as developing their cardio vascular and bone health the children are developing listening skills, coordination, balance, social skills and through the unique songs they are learning to count in French and Spanish. All children from 18 months access the sessions and Wendy adapts the programme to meet the specific needs of each group.”
