Come along to jobs fair in Maybole
Following the success of last year’s event in New Cumnock, I will again be holding a Jobs Fair this year, this time in the south of the Constituency, on Friday March 8 at Maybole Town Hall from 1pm to 3pm, which will coincide with Scottish Apprenticeship Week.
I have invited a cross- section of private and public sector businesses and organisations form across South and East Ayrshire with vacancies locally who will be able to offer opportunities to people young and not so young who are looking for employment or training.
I am sure we will secure wide participation and provide an opportunity for you to network, receive advice on working in a specific sector; job applications and/ or details of apprenticeships - You can give my office a call for further information.
Fireworks Safety Consultation
I am pleased to say that the Scottish Government has launched a public consultation, which is asking for views
on issues such as whether the sale of fireworks to the public should be banned, and what other measures can help ensure fireworks are used safely and responsibly.
I know many of you, especially those with pets, have concerns around bonfire night and I would urge you to have your say on this important issue.
Responses will inform on- going discussions about whether changes to legislation and regulation of fireworks in Scotland are needed.
Legislation on the sale and storage of fireworks is reserved to the UK Government although laws covering their use is devolved to the Scottish Government.
You can find details of how to respond to the consultation at www. gov. scot - The consultation will run until May 13.
You’ll find the full details of all my surgeries on my website jeanefreeman. scot or by calling my office on 01290 425876.
You can contact me at any time to raise any concerns you may have by email at jeane. freeman. msp@ parliament. scot or by mail to 46- 48 Glaisnock Street, Cumnock, KA18 1BY.
