A bid has been launched to re- open Ayr town centre’s Hourstons building as bosses at social enterprise model SDX are eyeing up the site.

Alex and ra Steen son commented: “The building that was the Forum is empty and the Kyle centre is practicall­y derelict.

“Ayr needs quality stores, cafe/ bars and a good clean up!”

Ferrero Rossi said: “This sounds great. Ayr should have more places dedicated to the arts.”

Stevie Arrandale added: “Yip can just see it- a bookies, poundland, pawn shop, kebab shop under the one roof.”

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is on the verge of racking up a £ 22million debt this year.

Drew Steed said: “Change the full way it’s run because shutting wards doesn’t save money in the long run.

“It affects the patient’s and you have bed shortages - it’s all down to the way it’s getting run.”

Catherine Anne McMurdo Merrin said: “Why do they not employ staff instead of using agency staff? Don’t they realise that the greatest asset they have is their staff.”

Margaret Borkowski agreed and said: “Stop using agencies - they charge a fortune. Employ out of work nurses.”
