It helps that his wife Ann was a carer in East Ayrshire for years, like Robert putting people’s needs before her own.
“I was living in America and came home to help my father 20 years ago,” said Robert.
“He was fleeced for thousands for a wheelchair and I was so horrified that I started working on scooters and wheelchairs myself and eventually I realised more people needed help and it became a full- time job.

Robert went on: “Most people will spend a lot of time sitting down throughout the day and using a standard chair may not always cut it.
