Expert advice helps provide precious gift of independence

-

For Robert Frew and the team at Mobility Matters finding the right living aids, wheelchairs and scooters for their customers is more than just a nine- to- five job.

Robert prides himself on giving people with limited mobilty the chance to gain some of their independence back.

That can range from giving them a bed that can move up and down to a reclining armchair offering them comfort and practical support for everyday living.

And for hundreds of people throughout Ayrshire Robert and the dedicated team in the Stewarton, Kilmarnock, Largs and soon- to- open Ayr Mobiity Matters stores have helped give them a better quality of life.

Their stunning and practical mobility scooters offer someone who was once housebound the chance to find their independence again - something that is a priceless gift.

It helps that his wife Ann was a carer in East Ayrshire for years, like Robert putting people’s needs before her own.

“I was living in America and came home to help my father 20 years ago,” said Robert.

“He was fleeced for thousands for a wheelchair and I was so horrified that I started working on scooters and wheelchairs myself and eventually I realised more people needed help and it became a full- time job.

“At Mobility Matters we understand how important it is to overcome independence and mobility challenges for our clients.

“When you come to us, rest assured that you will not just receive a warm, friendly welcome but also a variety of mobility aid supplies.

“We take care of our clients. People can pop in and talk to us and we can advise what aids will make a difference to them.”

At the showroom in Kilmarnock the stunning mobilty scooters are sure to catch your eye.

“We stock some of what I would consider to be the best in the scooter world,” said Robert.

“Kymco are beautiful mobility scooters and some of them require a driver’s license as they can reach 25 miles an hour.

“We only have top branded scooters, wheelchairs and independent living aids from Able 2. I consider them to be the best in the business.”

Recliners are an important part of Mobilty Matters too.

Robert went on: “Most people will spend a lot of time sitting down throughout the day and using a standard chair may not always cut it.

“Aches and pains can be avoided with the right chair.

“At Mobility Matters we stock rise and recliner chairs which will offer support and will help you get in and out of the chair itself.

“Making sure our clients are as independent as they can be is important, be it at home or getting out and about.”

Here, we understand how important it is for people to keep their independence
