The Tour of Straiton got a warm welcome
Straiton enjoyed being thrust onto the national cycling stage when the Tour of Britain powered through on Saturday.
The lads in lycra made quite a sight as they flashed through Main Street in a matter of seconds. Villagers gave out some lovely village hospitality, making bacon rolls, tea and coffee for the spectators who lined the street. Money raised will buy plants for the new village planters which have been recently purchased.
That’s lovely Lesley Dowman on the left with Julie Walker, Angela Seymour, Rita Baird and Jeanette Heggs.
