An 18- year- old boy has been charged for driving without a valid licence or insurance in Wreck Road, Girvan.

Officers observed a silver Audi driving at speed and stopped the vehicle at around 1pm last Tuesday.

Checks were carried out and it was discovered that the man was driving without a valid driving licence or insurance.

The vehicle was uplifted and he was advised that he was being reported to the procurator fiscal.

A 48- year- old man has been arrested and charged following a theft at Boots, New Road, Ayr.

The man entered the store and selected items from display before leaving at around 1.40pm on Wednesday.

Police were contacted and carried out an area search for the man before he was traced and a quantity of goods was recovered.

He was then arrested and charged before being taken to Ayr Police Station where he was held in police custody to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court the following day.
