Pet charity heading fur the pound

-

A doggy charity could be heading for the pound after being shortlisted for some major funding.

Give a Dog a Bone help to tackle pensioners’ loneliness by providing them with a rescue pet.

Following the success of her Glasgow project mum- of- two Louise Russell set up a second unit on Ayr Street, Troon, this year.

From there they provide a space to make new friends, learn new skills and mix with dogs.

And the charity has reached the final 15 of 800 applicants to receive a £ 50,000 grant from Ecclesiastical Insurance.

The charity has helped to rehome more than 300 cats and dogs and it sees moren than 200 older people across its two locations each week.

Louise says the cash would support the running costs of a third community space to help more elderly people.
