Going, going, gone as history bites dust
It took under a week for a permanent fixture on Prestwick Main Street to disappear forever.
The old constabulary police station - which would also become an area social work centre - has been gradually reduced by a digger and demolition squad.
By Tuesday morning it was all gone.
A dozen council flats will take its place and the community hopes the old constabulary sign from 1903 in red sandstone can be incorporated in the new build.
