Four arrests after two drugs raids in Ayr
More than £ 1,200 of Class A drugs have been sized from two Ayr homes. Four people were arrested and charged following an intelligence led operation. Drugs squad officers raised a house in Victoria Street and James Campbell Road.
Chief Inspector Brian Anderson, Local Area Commander for South Ayrshire, said: “At Victoria Street a 46- year- old man and a 32- year- old woman were arrested and charged for allegedly being concerned in the supply of drugs and for being in possession of drugs as well as obstructing officers at the scene. “At James Campbell Road a 46- year- old woman and a 50- year- old man were arrested and charged for allegedly being in possession of Class A drugs. “All of those involved appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court the following day. “When I took over the role in South Ayrshire I identified certain policing priorities that residents felt impacted on their daily lives the most.
“I immediately tasked officers with building intelligence and information around drugs and drugs misuse.
“This is not a one- off and I would ask that our communities continue to provide us with information.
“This allows us to tackle and disrupt those involved in the supply and use of controlled drugs.
“Our communities can contact us in person, on telephone and online .”
