It is all about the birds at RSPB central

Rock and rollers Brothers are ready to showcase some new tracks after a spell out.

The alternative three- piece from Ayr consists of singer, songwriter and guitarist Fraser Donaldson, bass player Curtis McConnell and drummer David Henderson.

They have supported the likes of Cassia, Hector Bizerk and Lewis Capaldi and next month they will precede indie duo Gravelle at Fury’s Nightclub.

The gig is on Friday October 11 and frontman Fraser says they are raring to go after taking some time out.

Fraser told the Post: “We’ve played at Fury’s a few times before but this is our first time back with a bunch of new songs and a proper cohesive set.

“A couple of years ago we got a new drummer so over the past six months we have been working on our sound and trying to make everything sound the way we want it.

“Now we are just working on this set but we have two new singles out which have been doing well and we’re planning on working on a music video for them.”

New tracks ‘ Fools Gold’ and ‘ Alright’ are available on Spotify and are free to download on Bandcamp.

Fraser says they will be back in the studio completing some more new material after the Fury’s gig.

And he reckons their first album could finally be on the horizon.

He added: “We are already working on our next few singles and within the next few years we will be putting an album together.

“We have enough songs but we are just trying to work out what is album worthy and what is not.” RSPB Central Ayrshire Local Group will start their winter season of indoor meetings this coming Monday, September 16, at 7.30pm writes Gerda Scott.

Dr Simon McGrory of RSPB Scotland will be the first speaker and enlighten the group on the important work of the Garnock Connections Partnership. It is a Landscape Partnership Scheme led by RSPB Scotland, in partnership with North Ayrshire Council, SEPA, Scottish Natural Heritage and the Scottish Wildlife Trust. The industrial past and rich farmland created wealth along the River Garnock but also left their mark on the river and its landscape. By restoring the degraded wetlands, riverbanks, and meadows, a wildliferich network will be created, strengthening the landscape’s resilience to change.

Here is a brief summary of the talks awaiting members and visitors over the season:

Owen Selly’s illustrated talk on sea eagles in the east of Scotland is on October 21.
