McCall’s bowled over by support
Ian McCall hailed the “tremendous” backing his team received in North Wales.
The boss was thrilled to learn more than 400 fans had travelled south. Wrexham fans even rose to applaud the figure when it was read over the stadium’s PA system.
And McCall is in no doubt the support proved its worth on the marathon trip. He said: “They were tremendous from start to finish and to take a number like that down here is something else. It would have been brilliant to reward them with a win but sadly it wasn’t to be.
“I thought we were the better team and after we equalised we should have gone on to win it.”
Home boss Bryan Hughes said: “This cup is a distraction for us but it’s been a welcome distraction here.
“I’m sure our fans will relish a trip to Scotland or Northern Ireland should we get it.”
